LA MAISON BLANCHE
The investment involves the restoration and reconstruction of the "Biala Sala" (White Hall) historic building (formerly known as "Kursaal - Salon Kuracyjny") at Kosciuszki 21 in Szczawno-Zdroj (Dolnoslaskie province), i.e.:
- retaining the current service functions: a restaurant with back-up facilities on the first floor and in the basements
- restoring the historical hotel functions
- retaining historical and architectural qualities of the building
- preparing the building optimally for hotel and restaurant functions
- adapting the building to the needs of the disabled
- ensuring fire protection conditions
- ensuring sanitary, health and safety conditions
- ensuring appropriate technical conditions of the building, as required by current regulations
- taking into consideration the scope of renovation and reconstruction works resulting from the building's current condition, as well as adapting it to the new functional and practical requirements.
The building is a monument entered into the Register of Historical Monuments as part of a complex of spa buildings.
Erected between 1839 and 1842, according to the design of Joseph Friedrich Raabe. Today, "Salon Kuracyjny - Kursaal" (a spa salon), currently known as "Biala Sala", is the only remaining part of the oldest complex of spa buildings in Szczawno-Zdroj. It is a historical center of social and cultural life of this health resort. Its first floor was the location of a concert hall, a billiard room and a dining room. Guest rooms were on the second floor. Before World War II it was a hotel (1938 - Kurpark-Hotel). After 1945 - a dance club and a restaurant.
